The Initiate Explained

I thought I'd type up a quick explanation of what I plan to accomplish from this blog as well as a bit about myself.  It is a lot harder laying this ground work than I thought it would be but as soon as I get some of these things out of the way I can start working on the meat of my blog.

Who am I?
I play the Blood Angels themed as Blood Ravens.  I guess you'd consider me the leader of the group I play in.  I don't really do all that much just try to encourage people to play the games and ensure we stay focused improvement in all aspects of the hobby.

My Warhammer 40k Experience.
I've played Warhammer 40k for about 6 months now (started in October) and am slowly building to a 2000 Point army.  My little group is currently at 1250 point value and we are nearing the update to 1500. I've never played a game with anyone outside of my group and never participated in a tournament of any kind.

What makes my blog unique?
I'm not sure if its 100% unique but my goal is to provide both new players and senior players a perspective of the hobby from a extreme new player.  I will be reviewing hobby products, posting lessons learned and even attempting techniques found on other blogs (with their approval of course).  These 'challenges' will be paced through step-by-step hopefully with some feedback from the original poster.

My goals.
I'd like to finish painting my army and ramp up for a tournament as soon as possible.  I'd like to believe I can provide a unique view of these events as everyone talks about going to see friends and I'm curious how hard it is to step into the scene and make some friends and build that rapport without help.  Other than that I hope to continue to assist my group in improving their hobby and ensuring they continue to have fun.

I hope there to be much more to come and would like to get a few viewers here posting in some feedback as soon as possible!  The Initiate needs your help improving his game and rolling with the punches.

  1. Congratulations on the new blog and also for jumping feet first into the 41st millennium! That's really exciting that you and your friends are all taking up this hobby together, it will be very interesting to follow along with your experiences playing 40k and working on your armies. Best wishes to you!

Battle Reports are to come soon too...might be interesting for you senior players out there to see what stupid things we newbies are doing.
